Julie Moulin and Bruno Bonansea met at the “Conservatoire National Supérieur Musique et Danse” (CNSMD) of Lyon where they both studied. Since 2006 they play together in the K wind quintet, a talented ensemble awarded in several international competitions.

They are now both orchestral musicians : Julie Moulin is Second flute of the “Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra” in Amsterdam, and Bruno Bonansea is Principal clarinet of the Rotterdam Philharmonic.

They created “Duo Yati” in 2011, with the idea to promote this original association of two instruments close and complementary. They play original pieces wrote for their instruments as well as transcriptions, in order to have a repertoire as varied as possible. They also love to invite their friend pianist Sophie Labandibar to play trios concerts.

A concert of the “Duo Yati” has something more than a normal classical concert. The two musicians gladly travel into other music styles (folk music, jazz…) and don’t hesitate to use technology to enrich their work and to propose to the audience an original and unexpected musical experience.

« Julie Moulin and Bruno Bonansea make a most wonderful musical partnership! Their excellent ensemble playing and sensitive colouring brings music so vividly to life. Through a broad range of fascinating repertoire they display how versatile and characterful these two instruments can be. I was particularly impressed by their rendering of Elliot Carter's "Esprit rude/esprit doux" (a work which the composer himself counted amongst his most technically challenging) which was performed by this fresh, young duo with such flair and facility that the audience was taken on an exciting, musical adventure, never for a moment doubting the technical capabilities of the performers. I look forward to hearing them play again... soon ! »
