Julie Moulin

Born in 1986 in Auvergne (in the center of France), Julie Moulin began flute in a very small music school. She hadn’t plan to do professional music studies (she wanted to be an architect), but life decided so… After taking the decision to devote her life to music, she studied one year in Paris with Vincent Lucas, and in 2006 she attended the “Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique” (CNSMD) of Lyon in the class of Philippe Bernold, Julien Beaudiment and Gilles Cottin. She graduated with flying colours in June 2010, and won the position of second flute in the “Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra” in Amsterdam only a few months later, in November 2010.

As a recitalist, she regularly performs with her sonata partner, the french pianist Sophie Labandibar. As concerto soloist, Julie played with orchestras such as the “Orchestre d’Auvergne” and the “Schleswig Holstein Musik Festival Orchestra”.

As an orchestral player, Julie had already a good experience before attending the prestigious Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, playing with the “Opéra de Lyon”, the “Orchestre d’Auvergne”, the “Orchestre Philharmonique de Strasbourg”, the “BBC National Orchestra of Wales” … Despite her young age, Julie already played with the greatest maestros : Mariss Jansons, Bernard Haitink, Lorin Maazel, Pierre Boulez, Valery Gergiev, Ivan Fisher, Nikolaus Harnoncourt…

Julie is also interested into teaching, and since 2012 she is assistant-teacher of Philippe Bernold in the “Académie Internationale d’été” of Nice.
